About

Inspirement Magazine is your online destination for inspiration. Our content covers travel, lifestyle, wellness, and more. Our aim is to inspire, enlighten, and encourage. We invite you to take a little time to look for a story that calls out to you. And we hope you find one!

Inspirement was started by RoseAnna Schick, a travel columnist, PR specialist, content creator, and award-winning professional based in Winnipeg, Canada. With a writing career spanning 30+ years, it was her dream to one day have one online home. That could feature all of her previously published articles.

The idea for a magazine took shape slowly over time, as a way to showcase her stories. While also making space to feature others. She is excited to provide a media platform that can help develop the next generation of writers.

Lifelong writer

Born and raised on the windswept Canadian prairies in the tiny town of Marquette, writing has been RoseAnna’s passion since literally learning how to do it in second grade. At the age of nine, she won third place in a short-story contest and received her first newspaper byline.

As a teenager, RoseAnna wrote song lyrics, poetry, and pieces of prose. As a young adult, she wrote and published a sassy staff newspaper at her summer camp job.

RoseAnna pursued writing in her post-secondary education, completing a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Winnipeg, and a Creative Communications Diploma at Red River College. She graduated in 1995 on the Honour Roll, and – to her surprise – was presented with the prestigious Lieutenant Governor’s medal at her convocation ceremony.

Writing as a career

Today, RoseAnna is an award-winning travel writer who has contributed over 350 columns to the Winnipeg Free Press Community Review newspapers. Prior to, she was a freelance writer for 20+ print publications including Going Places Magazine, Manitoba Calling Magazine, Winnipeg Women Magazine, and The Cottager.

RoseAnna’s work has been syndicated through the Canadian Press newswire service, and featured on websites like NHL.com, Examiner.com, and TravelManitoba.com. She contributed a weekly golf column for two summers, and a weekly snowmobile column for one winter, to the Winnipeg Free Press.

Since 2004, RoseAnna has operated RAS Creative, providing communications to the music and motion picture industries. She has worked with more than 90 film and television projects, 70 special events, and contributed to the career development of dozens of recording artists.

With 14 videos to her credit as producer, she has earned multiple awards and nominations at film and music festivals. Staying active in real life

When she isn’t writing, traveling, working on her magazine, or collaborating for her clients… RoseAnna loves spending time in the outdoors, and squeezing in wilderness adventures anytime she can.

She enjoys stay active and strong, and is keen on rowing, paddling, cycling, golfing, curling, swimming, hiking, skating, playing hockey, skiing, and doing yoga. Just not all on the same day.
